Long Distance and Interstate Long Distance

We offer many different types of telecom services including Interstate Long Distance (calls made from one state to another state)

The FCC mandates choice for customers to select the Long Distance provider that best meets their requirements. One of the biggest requirements of business customers in selecting a Long Distance provider is price. TeleDeal offers businesses the best Long Distance prices in the country from leading Tier 1 Long Distance providers and leading Long Distance Wholesalers (Resellers). We are able to achieve such good prices because of our tremendous buying power and industry experience.

There are 4 basics types of Long Distance Services IXC (Local Long Distance, Intrastate Long Distance, Interstate Long Distance, International Long Distance)  and 2 primary forms of long distance access (Switched and Dedicated). Long Distance Service is further classified as Outbound (Dial 1 Outgoing calls) and Inbound (TollFree - 800# Incoming calls). A fifth type of Long Distance is VOIP or Voice Over Internet IP. This is primarily used for interoffice calls by companies having many locations in the U.S. and around the World. VOIP calls are free. Call TeleDeal to discuss your VOIP needs .... we have the best solution there is.

An IXC is a communications common carrier that provides telecommunications services (e.g. Long Distance Service) between LATAs or between exchanges within the same LATA. The IXCs, Interexchange carriers have usually relied on local exchange carriers (LEC - RBOC) or competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC) for the local origination and termination of Long Distance traffic.

Switched Long Distance service goes from your office location PBX switch to a local telephone central office switch to the Long Distance POP switch via a PSTN network. See the linked illustration for more details.

Dedicated Long Distance requires at least a DS1 / T1 Dedicated Private Line and goes from your office location PBX switch via a Dedicated Private Line direct to the Long Distance POP switch. The costly PSTN LEC switching is bypassed. Customers need a minimum of 30,000 Long Distance minutes for Dedicated Long Distance. See the linked illustration for more details. The 4 basic types of Long Distance calls are:

  1. Local Long Distance calls (Band C calls in Illinois) are those calls that you make in a section of your local LATA  (generally, these are calls 15  to 45 miles from your location.) With TeleDeal's Flat Rate Local Service, these calls are free. As an example, see the LATA Map in the left column for Chicago LATA 358 in beige ... both Local (Band A and B calls in Illinois 1 to 15 miles) and Local Long Distance calls in this area are free with TeleDeal.
  2. Intrastate Long Distance calls are those calls that you make in those areas (LATAs) within your state excluding your local LATA.
  3. Interstate Long Distance calls are those calls that you make from your state to another state. For example, a call from Chicago, Illinois to Miami, Florida or a call from Chicago to Wisconsin. As shown in the map in the left column, the red area in Wisconsin (or in any other state) is a Interstate Long Distance call if you are calling from Chicago. In the example shown in the rate sheet, TeleDeal's Interstate Long Distance Rates are $.0125/minute for Dedicated Outbound Service and $.029/minute for Switched Outbound Service. Click here to see all of TeleDeal's Interstate Rates. Our rates are as low as $.0095/minute. By utilizing Dedicated Interstate Long Distance from TeleDeal, customers can typically save over 60% versus buying direct from an AT&T, Sprint, etc. As an example, a Chicago customer switching from AT&T (Interstate $.035/minute) and using 500,000 minutes/month could save about $11,250/month with TeleDeal. Plus, AT&T may require a lengthy 3 year contract versus TeleDeal's 3 month contract.
  4. International Long Distance calls are those calls that you make which are outside the boundaries of the continental U.S. 48 states. For example, a call from Chicago, Illinois to London, England.
